Here is somewhere beyond the clouds!

Hi guys! How are you?

I hope you are great and happy!

OK! Do you know what this episode is about? Yes! Lunar eclipse and solar eclipse! What do you know about solar and lunar eclipses?

If the moon comes between the sun and the earth, will there be a solar eclipse? This way, the weather gets dark and everyone thinks it’s night, but it’s actually day!

A lunar eclipse means that when the earth is between the sun and the moon, the shadow of the earth falls on the moon!

When the earth hugs the moon tightly and does not let the sunlight shine on it, will there be a lunar eclipse?

Bravo! How happy I am that you know so many scientific points! OK! Now I want you to close your eyes right now! good job! Now imagine a round table! Think that the sun is sitting in the middle of this table! Now think that the earth is rotating around that table!

In the real world, the earth goes around the sun in a circular path, which is called the earth’s orbit! The earth’s orbit is like a road on which the earth is driving on it!

Now, as you close your eyes, imagine another table next to this table! This time the earth is sitting in the middle of this table and the moon is rotating around this table! In the real world, the moon revolves around the earth in a circular path, which is called the moon’s orbit!

The moon and the earth are always rotating in their own orbit! The earth revolves around the sun and the moon revolves around the earth.

Now, sometimes the earth is going to be between the sun and the moon and sometimes the moon is going to be between the earth and the sun. When the earth stands between the sun and the moon, the sunlight does not reach the moon and the moon becomes dark! What do we call this?

good job! The name of this event is a lunar eclipse!

OK! Now that you know what solar and lunar eclipses are, how many times do you think solar and lunar eclipses happen every year?!

Well, every year there are approximately 24 lunar eclipses and 2 solar eclipses!

I have to say one more interesting thing! Solar eclipses occur in almost all planets of the solar system! All planets except Mercury! you ask why? Because between the orbit of Mercury and the Sun, there is no moon or planet that stands between the Sun and Mercury!

On the nights when a lunar eclipse occurs, we can easily see it with our own eyes. But be aware that you should not look at the solar eclipse! Direct sunlight is very harmful to the eyes. That’s why you should wear sunglasses in sunny days! You must wear special glasses to watch the solar eclipse!

Well, this episode is over! Stay tuned to the sky until the next episode!

I'm a narrator obsessed with writing and telling children's stories. I believe that in the stories world, everything is much easier to understand, especially for kids.
